About the event
Kirtan is a part of Bhakti Yoga, the Yoga of Devotion. Kirtan is a heart-opening musical experience with irresistibly sanctifying power.
Seabury's kirtans are easy to follow, traditional Hindu devotional chants in classic call & response patterns.
Multi-instrumentalist Seabury is a life-long student of music. He spent 2 years in India studying classical Hindustani & Karnatic music.
He studied Indian ragas with master teachers such as Ali Akbar Khan, GS Sachdev & Dr. K. Subramaniam. He sings & plays guitar & bansuri bamboo flute. Seabury is a music teacher for both adults & children.
Drummer Colby has been a devoted disciple of tabla master Pandit Swapan Chaudhuri for a decade & has been studying percussion since 1997. Colby is a music teacher of tabla & other percussion.
